- Need your help guys. I just bought a brand new factory sealed silent hill 2 game that apparently came from an estate sale. Its NTSC / sealed but i cant find this cover art anywhere. What did I just buy?
- I found these copies for sale and thought I’d buy them along with a ps2 ($50) since I’ve only played the first. I own the PS3 port of 2+3, but I didn’t touch it yet. Is there any negatives to getting the japanese copies?

Posted: 25 May 2020 06:32 PM PDT I wanted to share this purely because of how much I like the idea that was suggested. I was watching a video just now where this girl was discussing what supposed "devs" and leakers told her. She talked about how some ideas for Silent Hills required the player to sign a waiver, which is somewhat common for games, but if you watched the same thing I did, you'd know that the twist is that the waiver would be for some super meta gameplay mechanic where the game would haunt the player in the real world, even if they weren't playing, like sending random texts and phone calls and such. Now like I said at the title of this post, I wouldn't be too excited because these are all just rumors of a Silent Hills revival and all, but I REALLY loved what I heard and wanted to share because a horror game that meta would be amazing and truly worth buying. But if the rumors I heard WERE true, which again these are just rumors so don't hold your breath, then there's apparently talk of trying to get Kojima and Konami to cooperate once again with each other and revive Silent Hills. I mostly wanted to talk about how much I loved the idea of a horror game that haunted you outside of the actual game itself, but I thought I'd share everything I've heard from this YouTuber while I was on the subject. Again, I don't think we should get too excited, but you have to agree that it's pretty good to at least have a bunch of Silent Hill related rumors popping up, which is why I decided to share this info. Even if we truly never see a Silent Hill game ever again, it's nice that there's talk of Silent Hill projects in the air, so I think we can at least enjoy that. These rumors can basically be seen as a rainy day in an otherwise dry land, so let's be happy a little bit.😊 [link] [comments]

What are everyone’s most favourite Silent Hill environments? Posted: 25 May 2020 02:07 PM PDT Something that Silent Hill has that other horror games don't are really creepy and atmospheric environments. What are everybody's favourite environments in the Silent Hill series? I don't even think you could possible choose just one. Mine are...
I love the background music when you're in Alchemilla which makes it memorable for me
The area where you come across Walters grave. I like the music here too and do we know who Miriam K is? I don't like Silent Hill 2 as much as most of you and hardly any environments give me creeps other than this one
I love this area. The screams you can hear in the sewers really make it one of the most atmospheric of the Silent Hill series. I also like how they make it seem someone has been there already, like when you find the paper with today's date
The mannequin room, the room with a lit cigarette (whose was it?) and the glass wall with the wheelchair behind it. The howl you hear when you come to it gives me the willies
I love the Forest world a hell of a lot. When you Steve Garland there for the first time it's really eerie because he doesn't make the noises that all the other victims do. I love the wolf howls and bear growls as well. It's even more creepy when Walter and the Twin Victims are there the 2nd time around
I love the Devils Pit and the cool things you can see through the viewfinder. Things such as the hand in the car we just left and the body hanging over ledge. The train ride is great as well. When I first played, all those weeping bats had me on hedge. Origins didn't impress me at all so I don't have any feelings other than disappointment about the areas you explore in that game and Homecoming, although it's one of my favourites impressed me more regarding story and monster design rather than the areas Alex explores. Maybe some of you prefer the atmosphere in those games? [link] [comments]

What is the ambient piece that plays during Silent Hill's Good Ending? Posted: 25 May 2020 01:24 PM PDT Just wondering, does anyone know if the peaceful ambient piece that plays during the Good Ending of the original SH was ever made available outside the game? I couldn't find any instance of it on YouTube. For reference, the music in question starts at the 0:40 mark here. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Laura only makes sense as a manifestation Posted: 25 May 2020 05:07 PM PDT I suppose everything about Silent Hill 2 has been discussed before somewhere on the internet, so forgive me for the redundancy. Just want to get my thoughts out. Laura has always been a big problem for me within this story, and I realize that it is generally accepted that she is certainly real, but I just find it impossible to believe, and I think all the evidence in the game backs it up. The most obvious inonsistently is the fact that an eight-year-old girl is wandering around an abandoned town by herself. Did she hitchhike there? Did her parents drop her off for the day? And are you honestly telling me that it's just some big coincidence that she is in Silent Hill at the same time as James? Is she supposed to have been summoned there like the others? This doesn't make sense considering that she is notably innocent and has no grief to reconcile, no guilty conscience, no demons. If she had been summoned to Silent Hill, It could only be to function in relation to James. Think about the encounters we have with Laura. It's typically related to James having some epiphany, or James being punished. Laura is very punishing towards James. Up until he has his ultimate epiphany about Mary at the end, she is constantly punishing towards him, specifically in relation to Mary. I mean, imagine the coincidence that would lead James to just happen to run into this girl in an entire town, and the first thing out of her mouth is, "you didn't love Mary anyway!". it's completely consistent with her being a manifestation, and completely nonsensical when she is considered to be real. James is spending a lot of time with Maria, and starting to develop feelings for her. And right after this, Maria is gone and Laura is present, and she punishes James by locking him in a room with some bosses. If I were to consider her to be real, the only way I can imagine this making sense is if Mary was in a hospital in Silent Hill, and Laura lives in Silent Hill, or a nearby town (although it is still extremely difficult to believe that she wandered into this abandoned town for the day). In fact, there are all sorts of good reasons for Mary to be in a hospital in Silent Hill, thematically it would be very easy to accept the idea that James had gone away to some indeterminate place after the disaster, and in his warped mind, developed this delusion about going back to their special place as an excuse to go back to Silent Hill and face the truth. But no. The most obvious explanation is that Laura is a manifestation of the town. She doesn't act like an 8 year old girl, her entire presence there revolves around Mary, Mary is all she talks about - and yet she seems to have no personal interest at all in talking to James. Nothing about her or her presence in Silent Hill is realistic. I'm surprised I haven't seen more people talk about this, to me it's always been one of the biggest problems of this otherwise extremely impressive game. Are there official statements from Team Silent that confirm Laura is real..? Even if they said it, I still think my explanation makes more sense... [link] [comments]

Just finished beating Silent Hills and im conflicted Posted: 25 May 2020 12:06 PM PDT I really liked Silent Hills as a game, but the way its made with the different endings and the story itself is weird and tiring for me, Im a huge sucker for survival horrors and the first Silent Hill was amazing in that regard, but with that said Should I play Silent Hills 2 with the hopes of the story being "better" and more "easy" to get the good ending or should I give up? Posted: 25 May 2020 03:14 AM PDT I believe that this rumored sh title with oroginal director and artist as well as composer can be the game that brings the series back to form. If it is true that it is a soft reboot they will most likely retcon anything after sh 4 or even 3 for that matter. What do you guys think the story will be? What kind of otherworld do you expect? Also do you think there could be any direct link to the originals ala sh3 to sh1? [link] [comments] |
