Silent Hill doesn't need an famous actor as protagonist

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 09:47 AM PST

I remember how a lot of people where excited when it was revealed that Norman Reedus will be the protagonist. He is really a great actor but I think that Silent Hill wouldn't have needed that because of the titles made by team silent and especially SH2

Team Silence once stated that the wanted normal people and non actors to voice and act for the Characters in SH. Because that gives them a normal and grounded Role and I think the definitely hit the nail with it. Most of the Characters in their titles felt like real people and that added such a lot to the atmosphere.

I also did not need you to remember how unfitting the new voices in the HD Collection where? Because in comparison with the old voices you noticed that there are real actors behind the characters.

This should not be an hate post to Norman Reedus, but I think if we (ever) got an new title, they should again just hire normal people with no acting experience to give the title an grounded feel like once the master pieces of Team Silent did.

    your thoughts?

am i too late to make this joke?

Bad picture but wanted to share my Silent Hill "collection" with you guys, all EU covers, luckily because I found the 3 and 4 US covers UGLY. I also have the SH2 Platinum case with the game in and no manual. I've paid 20 bucks each, except SH2 which due to eBay problems it was free. Read comments.

Silent Hill Creator Launches Brand New Studio - Are We Excited?

How would a PC player go about playing the Silent Hill games as someone new to the franchise?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 06:38 PM PST

Long story short, came over from Dead By Daylight and found myself interested in the overall stories the Silent Hill franchise presents. Don't really have the financial room to buy multiple consoles, so I was wondering if there's any physical copies of the games on PC or should I just go through emulators.

    Stop bashing the HD Collection

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 06:08 PM PST

Can we please stop bashing the HD Collection?

I've seen a few instances on this sub where newcomers have asked if it's worth getting the HD Collection.

This has been met with a total "no" from this community, who then proceeded to shit on the HD collection, and normally instruct them to play on PS2 or get an emulator on PC.

This isn't always viable. No one is going to buy a PS2 and physical copy of a 2002 game or emulate it just because they have heard good things?

We know the HD collection is a shitty port but if someone has never played SH 2 or 3, and their only option is the HD collection, would you rather they never played both games because the ports are shitty?

I would much rather newcomers experience a port with some graphical errors than not experience them at all!

Do you think a Silent Hill reboot will appear at The Game Awards?

Something that could have a meaning but was forgotten about in SH2

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 07:28 AM PST

In the hospital examination room on the 1st floor, you come across a cabinet that says something among the lines of "lab results for mental disorder tests", James then says something like "lab results! I don't wanna see any of that", then you can't view it anymore. Could this have a deep meaning maybe? Also, do mental disorders really beed require a lab to be tested in ?

[semi-serious] could a more light hearted parody game work?

    Posted: 04 Dec 2020 07:19 AM PST

I once read that Origins originally was pitched as a parody of sorts and was supposed to make fun of the games tropes in a sarcastic fashion.

Do you guys think such a concept could actually work? I'd really want to know what happens if you actually get to fight with the doge in the joke endings
