I spent the whole day, but I don't regret it - the entire Silent Hill franchise on Steam (with all the fixes, artworks and self-made icons). Perfectly playable from start to finish. Time to replay these games and refresh my memories about some of them.

How the Dead By Daylight Silent Hill DLC teases upcoming game

    Posted: 26 May 2020 12:09 PM PDT

With the recent revelation that both pyramid head and heather will make their way into Dead By Daylight, (which currently is the top Asymmetrical Horror game in the market), this has sparked some speculation. Considering that the last piece of silent hill media was a pachinko machine, and while fans still suffer with the death of Silent Hills, most players don't associate the franchise to the wonderful P.T., a partnership with a top multiplayer horror game would be a very smart way to put SH on people's radars right before the announcement of the rumored PS5 Reboot. Do you think this is their strategy or this is just a cash grab partnership?

Why you shouldn’t hate on DBD or Konami for this DLC

    Posted: 26 May 2020 04:33 PM PDT

So now that this DLC for Dead by Daylight has been announced I'm seeing a lot of people being pretty pissed off and either being angry at Dead by Daylight or Konami mostly on twitter. Now I understand that most of the fan base just want a new Silent Hill game. However as mush as we might like or dislike this DLC it's a good sign that Konami are taking baby steps. Not only that, but they are trying at the very least. They could have shoved the Movie version of Heather and Pyramid Head and restricted The DBD Devs to only use them or flat out refused to collaborate with them, but didn't. That to me, shows they at least aren't trying to push the movies anymore. Plus for people who are angry that it's pyramid head with Heather I get that, but they have added one thing from each of the best Silent Hill games, and it's a good mix. Let's face it Valtiel isn't as know as Pyramid head. And just seeing Midwich remade is absolutely amazing. I would have loved James instead of Heather. But I've always believed James died at the end of Silent Hill 2, so Heather makes more sense to me. Same with all the visuals of this DLC just seeing modern graphic Silent hill is good.

Look, I'm not saying you should go buy this DLC or even buy DBD, what I am saying is at least Konami is doing something with Silent Hill. Yeah we want a new game sure, but this shows that they're ok putting the IP out there again, and even better Akira Yamaoka came back to at least do the new Dead by Daylight theme for the DLC. Which shows that Akira will work on Silent Hill again after downpour.

At the end of the day the big take I'm saying is Konami talked to people about Silent Hill to make this happen. Which at least opens the door a little to the possibility of a brand new Silent Hill game and that's only a good thing in my book, on top of that as a fan of DBD and if you're a fan. You can tell instantly that all aspects of this DLC got more love that any of their own DLC or movie DLC.

Midwich is almost a 1:1. sure Heather looks different but I think it would be unrealistic and look out of place is the original game models of PH and Heather were just ported over, different character artists have different takes, this is just their version of Heather, and it's a not bad one.

Whichever side of the fence you're on with this DLC. I'll say again, the best thing about this is that Konami are talking to people about Silent Hill and that's what rumours have been saying for awhile. This DLC might just be our first drip of new Silent Hill content.

I'm happy to see Silent Hill getting some love but Dead by Daylight really isn't my thing. Still. Hope people enjoy the Silent Hill update.
