    I've made some bad mistakes in my life. I dont want to get into the details but they were harmful to others (no, i didnt kill anyone) and one that sticks with me happened many years ago. I deal with the regret of my actions all the time and sometimes wish that Silent Hill was real and that i was drawn to face my inner demons just to find closure.

    Does anyone else feel that way?

    If you remember said post, you'll know about my goal to know everything there is to know about Silent Hill, at least the original 4 and Homecoming, since Homecoming's a better SH game than people give it credit for.

    I just wanted to give an update on my progress. Since I only own 2HD, 3HD and Homecoming at the moment [if anyone has an extra copy of Silent Hill 1 lying around that they wanna just get rid of, slide into my dms, by the way. Looking for SH1 is my top priority right now regarding this project], I don't have too much lore and puzzles written down, but it's a pretty impressive amount even still, I'd say about a fourth of the Composition book is filled out, granted I might have missed some things and have to replay the games I do own to go over what I failed to write down.

    But, all in all I just need 1 and 4 to fill my book up more. I might be inclined to add Downpour, if I have the space left after 1-4 and Homecoming, but I'm not too fond of the aesthetic that Downpour has, as it doesn't feel like they were aiming for a Silent Hill game when they started. But, since there's only a finite amount of SH games to play, there will likely be an instance where I will play downpour.

    But, back to the topic at hand, I want to share my progress, but I'm not sure of a proper way to do so at the moment, so maybe you can pitch some suggestions on how to present the current progress of my Lore Book?

    Silent Hill is an important franchise to me, and while Konami may not care about the fanbase, I do. Therefore, I'd do anything to do right by my fellow Silent Hill fans. I suppose this Lore Book is the first step. Idk, maybe I can take the knowledge I obtain and use it to form a multitude of things, from fanfics to theory videos or even potential game plots that Konami could use anytime as long as it could result in a good game, if they ever decide to make a game for us at all that isn't just a shameful cash grab, but Konami is Konami, and the way they're going, they're never going to stop defiling their franchises, so maybe I'll try even harder to get the Silent Hill IP to change hands, since they don't want to treat it right.

    I can't get past the combat in Silent Hill 2. I know the storyline is supposed to be great in all and if I could just skip the combat entirely I would.

    I finished Silent Hill and my thoughts on it.

    Yesterday I finished the original Silent Hill. Before this I did play and beat both SH2 and SH3. To summarise my thoughts on the game, It creeped me out more than I expected. That hospital section still lingers in my head alongside the ost that plays in the background. "Major Surgery" if I'm not mistaken. It was a good game and I loved it. But it wasn't as hard as some sources said before I played the game. In the end of the game when facing the final boss, I had 200 handgun ammo, 30+ shotgun shells, 20+ Health drinks and 5+ first aid kit. I unloaded all of my rifle ammo on the final boss lmao. But yeah, It got easy after you get the hammer which essentially fucks up everything. Could've sworn I only used the shotgun for the lizard and moth bosses. Never used it again afterwards.

    All things aside, It was a good game. Scared the fuck out of me and that's mainly because of the ps1 graphics honestly. I also wanted to ask, Should I bother with SH4? I played for a few hours (Until the prison area) and was bored to death. If majority say yes then I will continue SH4. And I'm aware that the game is pretty hard.

    Study on the significance of Laura in SH2

    I strongly guess Laura is the spiritual aspect of Mary. If the original song "the reverse will" implies literally the reverse will of Mary, Laura makes sense as a reasonable character of Silent Hill 2 since she seemingly came out of nowhere. How I guess like this is like following: Firstly, the reversed version of 'the reverse will'(so called as "the will") would be the Mary's comfortable death with her will that she wants James to go on his life contrary to the plot of the 'reverse' ending. (the song's prayer "Now I lay me down to sleep~ my soul to take" means Mary's accept of death herself, and Laura sings it!) Secondly, as Maria is the embodied admiring aspect of James(though she exists herself for real in silent hill) where it could be seen in 'Born from a wish', the innocent aspect of Mary embodies Laura as a child. Because Mary is the opposite character to James in the plot, there should be the same embodied person serving similarily as Maria. This makes sense considering the context that Maria somewhat makes James repent his murder on Mary. So, if Laura serves as an innocent aspect of Mary, the implication of the song's prayer and the significance of the character 'Laura' could be explained logically.

    As far as I know he wasn't part of Team Silent, the studio that created the original games and he only made a short demo called PT.

    Why is he so well liked and talked about here? Thank you.

    This track plays in the very beginning of Silent Hill 2, during James's exposition scene (pic related).
    I couldn't find it in the official Silent Hill 2 OST album, so I wonder how is it called and where can it be found.
