Poohramid Head found this on my old laptop. I found years ago, don't know who BHRYN is but, well done. Tubby little cubby all stuffed with pent up sexual frustrations!

Are you guys happy with Heather and Pyramid Head being on Dead By Daylight?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 03:54 PM PST

They are fan-favorite characters, I also like them.

I want to play Dead By Daylight again, I played it on PS4 back in 2017.

I started up Silent Hill 2 for the first time on an emulator. Probably going to go through all of the different games since I’ve never played them before.

So about the Returnal trailer and its now infamous "opening scene troll"...

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 04:39 PM PST

Apparently that "troll" with the door at the beginning of the Returnal trailer was exclusive to The Game Awards. What exactly does this mean? A YouTuber suggests this was the Silent Hill trailer we were expecting, just not what we wanted. Normally I'd agree with you and say he's looking too much into it, but never before has a part of a game trailer been exclusive to the event, has it? So even if you don't think it's hinting at Silent Hill, it's still a pretty odd move, so regardless if you believe it hints to Silent Hill or not, you have to admit that it's pretty strange and requires heavy debate.

Why was the door scene cut out of the trailer after the game awards?

PT: What Triggers Lisa's Jumpscares? (Aside from the Scripted Ones)

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 07:49 PM PST

Heyo, first post here. PT is one of my favorite games and I'm always wondering about certain aspects of it. I know there tends to be new stuff revealed every few months, but there's one thing that I can't seem to nail down.

Lisa's jumpscares seem... completely random to me. Aside from the scripted ones, like the 'look behind you'/'don't touch that dial now' sequence, I can't seem to figure out what exactly triggers a death screen. I suppose it's worth noting that I don't have PT and my information only comes from other playthroughs.

When I was a bit younger, I used to think that Lisa 'posessed' the player after a certain point (this was based on that 'Lisa is always behind you' discovery) and that turning around too fast could trigger the death screen. While this often seemed to be the case, I later learned that Lisa is not always behind you. Her attacks seem totally random. My friend watched a streamer who got attacked by Lisa after staring at a plant for too long.

I'm incredibly interested in AI and breaking down the mechanics of what causes a character to do a certain thing in a game. This is probably why I'm so curious about Lisa's attacks. It'd be really interesting to figure out how it's triggered; is there an invisible timer? Is there a weird certain condition that needs to be met? Is there a certain variable needed?

I doubt anyone knows the deep, technical answer I'm looking for, but I'd love to hear some theories from other players and fans. From what I've seen, there's no particular way to trigger her attack. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Just a theory, don't take it too seriously, but don't rule it out either...

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 07:39 PM PST

Imagine if someone who had irrefutable evidence that they worked at Sony or Konami came out and said that there WAS a Silent Hill game, the only issue is that Konami are deliberately holding the game hostage due to some stupid argument between them and Sony...

Honestly if that turned out to be a thing, considering how childish Konami are, I can see them intentionally holding the game hostage and just blatantly refusing to even so much as announce the game for some petty, probably microtransaction related, debate over the game.

Sony: "it doesn't need micros, it's fine as it is. Just release it before the fans get too antsy"

Konami: "FUCK THE FANS! I WANT MICROS! I DON'T WANT THEM TO HAVE A PERFECT SH EXPERIENCE! THEY NEED A PUNISHMENT FOR FORCING US TO PUT ACTUAL EFFORT INTO A GAME!!!"

Exaggerated, yes, but still not far off from a real scenario trying to work with Krapnami

    Silent Hill Origins: Judgement #8

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 12:31 PM PST

Which Silent Hill out of the Original 6, had the best Monster design in your opinion?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:08 AM PST

With the sound quality of SH3, it really elevated how creppy the Monsters were for me, on top of just how bizarre and freakish they looked, so my pick is SH3.

Going back. Questions about playing 2-4

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 11:49 AM PST

I have the PS3 HD collection for 2-3. I know it had issues at the time. I replayed 2 when I got it back then and didn't have much problem. Think people didn't like the fog.

Where and how can I play 4? Also should I look for a PC version with mods for all 3 of these since that could end up better in the end? Would need to figure that out since I've never done much PC Gaming

Is Maria an individual? How much agency does she have? (spoilers)

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 09:24 AM PST

On the face of it, she is either created by James Sunderland's own tortured subconscious, or the malevolent forces of Silent Hill itself, simply to torment and tantalize him over the issues he is unwilling to face. Sometimes she is sweet, sometimes she lashes out at James, and sometimes she acts subtly sinister, like in the jail cell scene, where she seems to be very deliberately messing with him by switching between identities.

On the other hand she retains Mary's fondness for Laura, even if she doesn't quite remember why. And in the Born From a Wish sub-scenario she is helpful to a stranger even though she has nothing to gain from it, and undeniably has her own desires and thoughts. So she clearly doesn't just exist when James is around to perceive her.

Did the forces of Silent Hill create such a perfect puppet that she has her own identity, but it gets overridden at times in order to mess with James? Or what?

The Secret Behind Luck in Silent Hill 2 Speedruns

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 11:27 AM PST

If you’ve read the Resident Evil 8 leaks, story points are VERY familiar (MAJOR RE8 SPOILERS)

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 04:55 AM PST

RE8 basically steals Silent Hill 3's entire premise toward the end of the game.

You can read the leaks online if you haven't. From this point on, MAJOR spoilers:

SPOILER (don't read unless you want the game spoiled):

Eveline = Alessa/Cheryl Rose = Heather Chris = Harry Mason

Rose like Heather is hunted by a religious cult.

Chris, has to raise the reincarnated Eveline (Alessa/Cheryl) as Rose (Heather)

HELP Got a Save Error and Might Lose File

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 07:58 AM PST

    Hey everyone!

So I'm on my first ever playthrough of the first three SH games on my Alienware laptop. I'm running them on those emulators you can get online, (I know, I'm sorry, I couldn't find any other way that wouldn't break the bank since these games are so inaccessible now), and so far it's been fantastic! However, I'm about half way through SH2 right now when I was randomly hit with a "Save Game is Damaged" message when I went to use a Save Point. It looks like the save file may not even exist anymore.

Now I'm standing in the creepy hospital section before that ceiling boss terrified to close the game because I'm scared if I do I'll lose all my progress and have to start from scratch! Does anyone know if there's any safe way to get the save function back up and running again without having to back out and do the whole game over again? I can try and provide any other info on my computer etc. if needed.

Thank you so much for all your help!

Theory: Silent Hill is full of fear toxins

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 08:50 AM PST

The monsters of the games always symbolize something of the protagonist (or the antagonist) and the Fear Toxin makes someone have hallucinations with its fears.

If another Silent Hill game comes out within the next 1000 years, do u think Trevor Henderson would be a good choice to design the monsters?

At the very least, I feel Konami should apologize for killing Silent Hill

    Posted: 14 Dec 2020 03:44 PM PST

I don't know how to go about provoking them into doing such a thing, but I want a public apology if absolutely nothing else for the simple fact that if SH is dead it's all their fault.
