Question about Brahms and its distance from Silent Hill

I was watching a video of someone playing Silent Hill 2 this morning and there's a sign at the beginning that says Brahms is 265 miles away. This can't be since Cybil Bennett mentions it's "the next town over." Even if the sign is supposed to read 26.5 miles, that still seems like it would be too far for it to be the nearest town to Silent Hill, or for the police station in Brahms to send one of their officers there. That same sign says Paleville is 10 miles away and Old Silent Hill is 50 miles away. There's no way that's possible since OSH is inside of Paleville. In the intro to the first game we see snow in the background as Cybil gets up to leave so I can't imagine Brahms is much further than 10 miles away.

By the way, what do you think became of Cybil? Do you think she survived the first game? What happened to her after that? Would you like to see her as the main character of a new Silent Hill? That is if Konami ever decides to do a real sequel instead of just making SH pachinko machines.
