Finished a Silent Hill game for the first time in my life and I fell... Empty Posted: 17 Dec 2019 08:02 PM PST I don't know... I was hyped up about this game since my childhood when I first watched the first movie and read amazing reviews. Then this month I got SH2 by a simple download, kind of out of order, but from what I heard both games can be played without any problems from a lore perspective. I played so thoroughly what I thought would be the experience of a lifetime, and in a way it was, I fell in love with that small town and I plan on visiting it again for different endings and the whole replay bonus content. But I can't help but feel lost, isn't there more? From what I heard this is one of the best tittles in the series and one of the best games in history, and it ends so shortly? I know, if it was longer it probably would've dragged the story, and I know I have to keep in mind there probably were limitations back when it was made. It was sort of stupid to expect too much from a horror game, especially one made nearly 2 decades ago, maybe I should've explored it more, gone in to more rooms, appreciate the world around me more, read more diaries, felt more... There's always a new game but, it just feels like another game, it's the same story, but with a different outcome based on my actions, I don't know how to explain it well. Should I play the first one or the third one after it? I got the ending where James moves on if you are curious [link] [comments]
Is there any possibility Konami sells “Silent Hill” IP to some big company like Sony? Posted: 17 Dec 2019 03:55 PM PST I mean, there could be remotely possible for Konami to sell Silent Hill IP in the near future according to y'all? In my opinion, the better option would be that they share the royalties on the IP. Konami could sell 60% of the rights of the IP to Sony (eg.) to make a new game/remake and still profit from the IP making pachinkos and from game royalties. Is this a so unrealistic option? Could it be possible? I think one thing we can do as a fanbase is let us hear ourselves. Making a petition with loads of signs for a "shared-priority" of the Silent Hill IP doesn't sound such a bas idea for me. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Idea for a Silent Hill online game Posted: 17 Dec 2019 10:57 AM PST (repost because mentioning "battle royale" in a SH subreddit is the quickest way to get downvotes) Now bear with me. It would be a non-canon Silent Hill spinoff, as I believe this putting this anywhere near canon would be worthy of the 8th circle of hell. It would consist of two teams, the Monsters and the Humans. There can only be 10 humans per server max, and they spawn in all different places on the map. Your character/avatar would decide what you look like as a human. The regular realistic clothes would be at no cost, but the goofier items (Ex. Robbie Mask, Pyramid Head, Heather Shirt) would require payment. Of course race, gender, hair, and age would be free modifications. The humans start out with just their fists, but they will find items, weapons, and ammo in a randomly generated town. For the Monsters team would give you a choice of these different monsters. The Grey Child, Lying Figure, Numb Body, Twin Victim, Bubblehead Nurse, Schism, Raw Shock, and Screamer. When you die as a monster, you wait 30s to respawn, which is unlike the Human class in which death is infinite. Monsters are low In health and have low attack power, but make up for it in numbers and infinite respawns. The goal is to survive for 1:00m-10:00m (you can select the times in-between the two times listed) until the server switches to the Otherworld at the end of said time limit. The Otherworld sequence lasts for one minute. After that minute, the game ends and the victor is decided. When the server shifts to the Otherworld, 1 random monster will be transformed to an iconic villain of their game. (Greychild=God, Lyingfigure=Pyramid Head, Numbody=Memory of Alessa, Twinvictim=Walter Sullivan, Nurse=The Butcher, Schism=Yolked Pyramid Head, Raw Shock=idk ice? Screamer=Boogyman) I hope I didn't offend too many hardcore fans with this silly little idea. Give me some ideas that you think would be cool, maybe someone who's good at game design could actually make this. tl;dr: human fight against monsters until timer runs out. (Post has absolutely nothing to do with the current state of Silent Hill and Konami.) [link] [comments] |
