    Silent Hill is the town that calls you to face your fears and pay for your sins... or is it?

    Something that I find curious is how everybody knows Silent Hill is the videogame where someone who has made a terrible mistake is called by a cursed town to pay for their sins. There, they have to face their worst fears and insecurities given form by a town that, in truth, does not want to kill you but make you realize the truth and atone. But Silent Hill is not really this, is it?

    Of the four original games, the only one who fits this description is SH2. Even then, it's not clear that the town "called" James and wanted him to atone for his sins. The idea is only expressed by the deranged Eddy. As far as we know, it could be that SH is simply a town filled with a negative energy that attracts damaged people, instead of a sentient punisher as fandom portrays it as. Harry and Henry never committed any "sins", and it was chance that got them involved into Silent Hill and the cult; Henry never went to the actual SH in fact. Heather was only involved by factors out of her control, and never committed any sins either.

    Regarding the "facing you fears" thing, only James and Heather do this. Harry faces Alessa's fears, and Henry faces Walter's. And again, Heather does not face her fears as some kind of purgatory. It seems they are manifestations due to the powerful and evil energy of SH, not because a sentient town wanted to punish her.

    I think it's natural that this idea of SH as the sentient punisher became so dominant taking into account SH2's popularity. The idea was spread further by how Downpour, Homecoming and (to an extent) Origins attempted to replicate the magic of SH2 down to the "called to the town to atone" interpretation of the series. But if one only takes into account the original Team Silent Hill games, it seems the popular interpretation of SH was not the original or the intended one.

    End of Sanctuary COVER

    Always wanted to cover End of Sanctuary on guitars as SH3 was and is my all time favourite. So, here it is!

    For me, this piece was iconic along with the alley scene at the start of the game. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I had fun making this!

    Will there be any mods for sh4 on gog, unless there is already and I don't know of em, I'm new to pc gaming so idk how mods and such work but if there are I'm ready to play the gog version with mods if any!

    Dark atmospheric Indie developer

    I want to talk to you about this game developer in general, this person is doing dark atmopherics game of a quality that is very rare to see in indie development and for me is a crime that this man is not more famous. At any person who likes HR Giger or Beksinski will enjoy his work.
