Experiencing Silent Hill 2 for the first time.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 08:32 PM PST

So I've booted up Silent Hill 2 for the first time ever and lord, it's genuinely one of the most harrowing experiences I've had in a long time, and I think I'm barely scratching the surface. I've gotten passed the hospital and am currently making my way towards the park once more. The shift in the hospital's atmosphere in conjunction with night falling in Silent Hill is fascinating and disturbing. The game itself isn't particularly challenging on Normal, but the tone and the atmosphere is fascinating and disturbing. There's so many mysteries left. It genuinely feels like James' situation has become hopeless. I can't wait to see what comes next.

Saw someone post a rendition of James through an app, so I thought I'd give it a go myself. Here's my version of "updated graphics" Maria, Heather and James (all made through apps as well).

What is in your opinion the best of the bad silent hill games and why?

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 03:30 PM PST

We can all agree 1-4 are great but what about the western games which one is the least bad of the bunch.

(Spoilers) Did Angela somehow know that James killed Mary?

"Liar! I know about you...you didn't want her around anymore. You probably found someone else!".

Did she know about James? Or is there some sort of other explanation?

When she said "you didn't want her around anymore" I sorta thought she did? :0

I need help for Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition to detect native resolution.

    Posted: 05 Nov 2020 08:34 AM PST

I got the game to run perfectly, but it defaults to 4:3 and I find that annoying. I was able to alt-tab out and go to Intel's graphics properties to force it back to native, then have the .ini file to be set at that resolution and it works. But when I restart the game, it defaults back. The game is playable and I'm happy, but is there a way to make the game stay at my native resolution every time I run it?

    Thank you!
