Does anyone else find SH comfy, in a strange way? Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:51 PM PST For some reason, despite being absolutely terrifying, the series has to be the most comfy horror I've ever seen. Like, the game feels very "clean", for lack of a better word. When I watch a gory horror movie for example, I feel rather gross and depressed or something, like a mix of that. But when I play a SH game, I never really feel bad like that, just in suspense in the best way possible. It's like being scared and enjoying the mystery without the nasty side effects. Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:46 PM PST So a lot of people have read about the articles about Konami trying to get 2 new Silent Hill games off the ground. One a soft reboot and the other an episodic Telltale style stuff. (This is what remember) Now 4 days ago a trailer of a " real-world and grounded representation of mental terror, based on real lived experience accounts and in-depth research with the aim of recreating the horrors of the mind as accurately and realistically as possible". This is the description of the new Ninja Theory game, Project: Mara. I'm just speculating but this game looks Silent Hill-y. Idk I just wanted to get my idea out there. [link] [comments]
Playing silent hill 2 enhanced with a switch pro controller Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:21 PM PST I've added the game through steam and tried using big picture mode but I can't remap any buttons in control settings. The controller works in game albeit with very awkward controls (start is L3, for example). If I run it without steam, it works sort of but every input I try to assign comes up as a keyboard key. Any tips? [link] [comments]

SH3 PC on UHD TV next to FullHD dual-monitor setup Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:36 PM PST Hiya, so I wanted to give SH3 on the PC a go and finally put my UHD TV to use with those sweet, sweet spiced up graphics. Connected via DP are two FullHD monitors sitting on the desk in front of me and next to each other. Some feet behind me is that gorgeous 55 " TV which already did a good job with all the PS2 SH games. The TV is connected via HDMI. Monitors and TV are powered by a RTX 480, CPU is still a 2600K, OS Win 7 x64. This way Windows' display settings look like this: https://i.imgur.com/F8C3ScU.png I downloaded SH3 from myabandonware (thanks to everyone who recommended this on this sub!), installed the game, applied the widescreen fix from the PC gaming wiki and adjusted the .ini. While playing fine on monitor 1 (FullHD) and 2 (FullHD), I can't for the life of me get it to work in fullscreen on the TV (monitor 3). If i choose windowed mode in the SH3Config.exe, I can get it to start on monitor 1, alt+tab and move it to monitor 3. If I maximise it there, it jumps back to monitor 1 but is in fullscreen there. The keyboard shortcut Ultramon didn't help, not even with assigning a custom shortcut for monitor switching. AMD's GPU driver utility Adrenaline shows the monitors and their specs but doesn't let you specify to run a game on a specific one: https://i.imgur.com/ujU870P.png Usually programs remember the last monitor on which they ran and if they were windowed or fullscreen but this does not apply to stupid sh3.exe. The only way I got SH3 to run in UHD and fullscreen on the TV was when I disabled monitor 1 and 2 completely in the display settings. Not only does this screw up the arrangement of desktop icons but is also a tedious and a backwards way to handle something that should be easy peasy. TL;DR How to have SH3 always start on monitor 3 in fullscreen mode. [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jan 2020 05:46 AM PST source:https://twitter.com/AestheticGamer1/status/1220487064094826496 I'm going to clarify something about the two Silent Hill games, since some people have asked me about this. The games I'm talking about are not gambling games, Konami were approaching video game development studios to seek interested developers for pitches to evaluate, and were looking for two slots. I also know this might sound like a cop-out to some, but outside of Konami approaching developers about this a couple years ago I literally know nothing else. Someone I personally know that worked at one of the approached studios told me this some time ago, & I later was told the same thing by someone else at a different studio. Neither studios ended up getting the job though. I don't know if they're still in development, but I'd guess that they are. Others probably know far more than I do. I don't know anything else more than this. I'm telling the truth with what I've said, I'm not making it up. That said, how useful the information is to be seen. What I know is two-years old information, I don't know where these projects are at now or if they'll come into fruition. I'm hopeful, though. [link] [comments]

SH2 Extra Riddle Difficulty PC Save Posted: 26 Jan 2020 11:29 AM PST I just recently beat SH2 for the first time. I played on hard action and puzzle and want to go through it again on the "Extra" riddle difficulty setting, however I don't want to have to play through it on easy and normal to unlock it. Does anyone have a save with the "Extra" riddle difficulty unlocked that they could upload? Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 26 Jan 2020 10:20 AM PST I'm getting a small but annoying lag everytime after i open the inventory, then it dissapears. Set the game to single core affinity, then all cores, then again single core, max priority, yet the game stills lag after opening the inventory, sometimes after reading the map, or changing scenarios. It's kinda frustrating, sometimes i feel my PC just sucks, not beign able of running a 2003 game withouy any problems. Same thing happened in SH2 with the cutscenes feeling a bit slowed. Just rewatched PC walkthroughs and they don't seem to have that issue at all. Currently playing on PC with the Silent Hill 3 PC FIX 1.2 BY STEAM006 and the Widescreen fix. Any advice is welcome. My specs: I5 7400, 16GB ram, GTX 1050 TI. [link] [comments]
