The PTV Drug is the reason why Lisa didn’t turn as quickly (SH1)

    Posted: 25 Jan 2020 07:36 AM PST

When looking through theories as to why Lisa Garland was still 'human' throughout Silent Hill 1, I always see the theories that 'She didn't know she wasn't human' and that 'Alessa was keeping her alive for her care', but when I look at the way in which Alessa mercilessly ravaged the town of Silent Hill, I find it difficult to believe this would be the case. I am here to suggest that Lisa Garland was kept alive anomalously based on her extreme PTV addiction, and that the contents of PTV unknowingly granted Lisa resistance to the parasites that had infected the hospital staff of Alchemilla Hospital (This theory applies only to SH1, as the Nurses in alternative games don't have the parasitic growth and represent the thoughts of the protagonists.)

Firstly, we have to examine the drug PTV itself. PTV is shown by multiple SH Police Reports stating that it's developed and filtered from a plant originating in Silent Hill known as White Claudia. (File 8/14 of the reports.) White Claudia is also the key plant used in the creation of Aglaophotis, which is implied in the Pharmaceutical book found in Midwich Elementary (In the play novel) which mentions a 'Viscous red Liquid', marching the description of Aglaophotis. Evidently by this, it isn't a stretch to imply that PTV and Aglaophotis most likely contain the same contents from the plant, which acts as a backbone to this theory.

Now, we take a look at Lisa Garland, who is implied to conduct sexual favours as such for acquiring PTV, shown by her and Kauffman in Origins in the Riverside Motel. In Silent Hill, Lisa implies she blacked out and woke up to the horrors of Alchemilla hospital. This brings me back to the police report which mentions that the seeds of white Claudia contain Hallucinogens, which implies Lisa could've overdosed and knocked herself out from a hit, only to wake up in Alchemilla. This starts off Lisa's immunity, as she blacks out just before the shift in town, meaning the PTV is still in her bloodstream. Now, back to Aglaophotis. Aglaophotis is seen to be a demon repeller, such as when it is used on a Cybil Bennett, in which the liquid expels the parasite from Cybil, saving her from possession. This shows that Aglaophotis is resistant against the parasites infecting the Hospital Staff of Alchemilla. Aglaophotis, as I said before, contains White Claudia just like PTV. My theory is essentially that the white Claudia is the key to demon expulsion, and that since Lisa has done PTV before the events of Silent Hill, she was temporarily immune to the parasite that already infected her.

Yet, some of you may argue 'So why did Lisa turn then, even if she has this immunity?', well simply put: Aglaophotis is refined specifically to expel demons, whereas PTV is a recreational drug. Had Lisa took Aglaophotis, the parasite would've left her body. However, since she had an unrefined form of the substance using white Claudia in PTV, she instead only had a temporary resistance to the parasites effects, thus leaving her vulnerable to an extent, which was at the point in Silent Hill near the end in which she finally turned, having lost her immunity due to the drug wearing off.

Well, that's my theory. Hope it warrants some legitimacy.

    Silent Hill 2

i'm 15 so I never got to experience SH2. but i'm aware of it's masterpiece, and have been wanting to play. I don't own a PS2, but i'm thinking of buying a copy of SH2 off of ebay, before they're even harder to find in the future, and one day when I have the money, buying an old PS2. unless the PS5 has backwards compatibility. what do you all think?
