Rumour: Silent Hill Reboot in the Works Alongside Telltale-Style Game

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 03:03 PM PST

I’ve never played a silent hill game

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 03:26 PM PST

I've never played the games, but I've always respected them, their horror is the kind that will never cease to make my skin itch

This series is art, and it's much deeper than other horror franchises, this series actually helped me get into another horror franchise: Resident Evil, the main reason being that RE7 filled the space Silent Hills should have

I've always respected this franchise, and I'm thankful that Silent Hill died so Resident Evil could live.

But these hills will never forget, these hills will never forgive, The Silence will return. You will come back, and we'll see those new toys.

    Your day will come

    :)

Reality Check About Konami Working With Kojima

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 04:46 PM PST

Any rumor that says that, you can discount as fake.

    Why? Here's the facts:

    1) Death Stranding didn't sell very well. Had it been a sales megahit, we could picture Konami's greed being piqued, but DS only sold well in the first week, dropped significantly in the second, and disappeared altogether from most countries' charts after the first month. Maybe the first month sales made up for the production costs and turned up a small profit, but what can be inferred is that it wasn't a megahit in sales by any measure. Why would Konami want to work with someone who didn't produce a megahit to "redeem" themselves? They have shown they care only about profits

    2) Kojima burned his bridges thoroughly at Konami. And by that I don't mean some catfights with the executives, though there was some of that (as evidenced by petty slights going on both directions). He burned his bridges because of years of a combination of acting like a diva AND impacting profits for costly choices that didn't result in profits. Hiring Sutherland, for example, did nothing for Konami's bottom line, but Konami picked up on such moves being only for Kojima's benefit. Ditching Snake's voice for Sutherland's was not only much more expensive, but a move that angered fans, and didn't result in a better end product to boot, since Sutherland delivered very few lines. Basically, Konami realized they were paying for Kojima's Hollywood networking and decided to cut their losses and fire him

    3) Death Stranding doubled-down on all the excesses that Konami supossedly fired Kojima for, including a budget inflated by hiring expensive actors, an enormous advertisement budget (which included a world tour), and a lot of diva behavior that wasn't too hot with Konami management. If Konami felt grated by Kojima before, I don't think they'd be personally looking forward to even more of it

So if you put the points above together, you can see such a scenario makes little sense: "Kojima-kun, you went out there and made some small sales all on your own! Let bygones be bygones and let's talk business!"

Unless Konami's leadership was replaced by Kojima fans and I didn't notice

Forget about a new silent hill title for a second.

    Posted: 24 Jan 2020 05:34 AM PST

Okay, here me out. What do we think about an independent title unrelated to Konami or Silent Hill jointly worked on by Kojima and Masahiro Ito? This would be a pretty big flex for Kojima if he were to work on and release a better horror title than Konami as they were trying to get back into the gaming industry. We all know that Konami has a track record of being average at best in terms of the Silent Hill franchise as of late, so lets forget about silent hill for a second. Can we confirm that the project Kojima is working on is or is not horror? Can we also confirm that Masahiro Ito is or is not working with Kojima?
