| Started Playing Shattered Memories for the first time... Posted: 06 Mar 2020 09:12 AM PST Some back story before jumping into it. Ive played them all. I suffered through Homecoming and Downpour because it was A Silent Hill fix. I barely survived the Silent Hills cancellation. Be me. 2020. A new online friend and i were talking and it turned out not only was he a fellow Silent Hill fan, we both found out we were on the Silent Hill Haven forums back in 2005! Anyways. He says he actually liked Shattered Memories, which i had NO CLUE it Existed up until this point. Anyways i guess its expensive as fuck. So i had no luck buying it. He ended up sending me his copy of it for the Wii. I dusted my old wii off and booted it up. First off, apprehensive as i was at first to use the Nunchuck and shit I ended up loving the use of the Wii Motes Microphone and Aiming. It gives you more immersion than i thought a Silent Hill Game could give you. Second, I love the idea of implementing a Psych test that changes the game along with you. I just started it but i can tell itll be a fun dynamic. Lastly, the blizzard idea is neat too. I really did enjoy the use of water in downpour alot. Just not the gameplay itself, so itll be a nice change from the Fog. Im only just begining to jump into it and i wanted to let yall know im finally excited to try a new Silent Hill game again in case anyone else was in my same boat. Posted: 06 Mar 2020 08:33 PM PST She gets far too much hate in my opinion.Almost all of the hate is for escorting her, but she fights for herself, cant be killed outside the 2 bad endings, i know she can get in the way when fighting but takes some serious clobbering to actually damage her health, I must have hit her 10 times myself and never came close to possessed with the candle trick even the health she dropped came back for the last section. I get everyones supposed to hate escort missions in games but this ones far from the worst ive seen, i kind of like it really, i think the lack of non ghost bosses was a bigger misstep honestly but anyway i digress, maybe shes a nightmare on hard? Definitely not the case on normal. Long story short, new appreciation, I love sh 4 still but now i know its not as hard as i remember to get the best endings its staying fondly in my memories as a great silent hill game and fun in general. I mean, judging by those monster designs that leaked 1-2 years ago from the game's files, made me think that originally the story was mean to be different and feature mostly animal like monsters Any thoughts? | How would you guys feel about a sci-fi SH game? Posted: 06 Mar 2020 12:07 PM PST Had a dream this morning about a SH game that took place on a moon base or something, I don't remember it all that well but I think the protagonist was on a sort of vacation and when he woke up after having gone to sleep, the whole base was suddenly abandoned and he started exploring the whole thing. The rest wasn't really coherent but I also believe there was an Otherworld-ish sequence where the "sky" turned white with black dots, instead of the typical space background of black with white dots. The ground also seemed like a volcano floor. That being said, what do you guys think of stuff in this vein? It seems pretty interesting to me. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 06 Mar 2020 10:58 AM PST The events of Silent Hill 1 are supposed to happen in 1983, but Harry's car is from 1986 and in "Cafe 5to2" there is a poster of a band that was formed in 1991 called "Portishead". | Posted: 05 Mar 2020 10:43 PM PST I recently decided to get into silent hill since the first one was a dollar on the ps3 and I could play 2&3 for free with a trial of psnow. Overall I loved the games, as a huge RE fan I should've played these gems sooner. During my research into seeing what SH games I should play I found out how much the HD collection is hated. I watched a couple videos and whatnot that basically deemed it unplayable. All the complaints and issues were something I almost didn't experience. 2 played fine and the only noticeable issues in 3 was the occasional FPS drop. I'm sure the original 2&3 are better experiences but the hate for the HD collection comes off a tad excessive. It may be an inferior way to play but it's cheaper and easier. [link] [comments] |
