Here's what I'm thinking about the recent announcement...

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 03:12 PM PST

So, I want to start off by saying I am almost 100% sure that there's a new Silent Hill in development. There are too many sources which confirm it.

    1. Kojima tweeting about making a horror game
    2. Masahiro Ito tweeting about a new game he's working on, which he hopes won't get canceled
    3. A few recent leaks from a reputable twitter account which states there are two new Silent Hill games in development
    4. A leak which states that the ice between Kojima and Konami has thawed, including an inside source from Rely on Horror, which confirmed the same thing that the aforementioned twitter account posted
    5. The cryptic announcement, a pencil with pyramid on it, the word silent (which may be just a meaningless usage of the word)
    6. Masahiro Ito tweeting RIP Pyramid Head almost at the exact same time as Kojima's aforementioned tweet

But here are my thoughts. Kojima knows what he's doing. He knows that fans are expecting a new Silent Hill and making a teasing tweet in which you deliberately turn the pencil so that PYRAMID is seen on it, while using the word silent, it's definitely something more than just an elaborate prank.

What I think however, is that he's trying to bamboozle all of us into thinking that Silent Hill will be announced THIS WEEK. I think he deliberately wants to mislead fans. The announcement was for Death Stranding PC and just when fans think again that Silent Hill is dead, boom! He announces it at a later time when nobody expects it.

My point is. If SH doesn't get announced this week, don't get your hopes down. Kojima is a master troll and I believe that he's trying to avoid what happened to Capcom and the notorious leaks with RE2 and RE3 remake.

    Your thoughts?

    Need help getting PT

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 06:21 PM PST

I know this has been asked multiple times, almost to the point of annoyance, but I'm one of those fans desperate to get my hands on this teaser. My friend has it, or had downloaded before when it was actually available (so it's in his library), and he seems relatively willingly to let me get it somehow. Herein lies the dilemma, how do I even get it from him and his PS4 and then will I even be able to play it? My only concern is that if I somehow get it by doing the Hard Drive method or by simply logging on to his account on my PS4, that it won't even be accessible unless I keep his account. Really irritating of Konami, they buried this game quite well unfortunately

Why is killing monsters a negative thing in some of the games?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:16 PM PST

Killing a significant amount of the monsters in Silent Hill 3 and Downpour lead to a bad ending while Origins has this in your second run. Does this reflect that Heather killing a bunch of monsters would be her giving in to her anger leading to the possessed ending? That Murphy killing a bunch of monsters shows he likes killing and is therefore a murderer? I don't know how it'd tie in with Travis. My question is, do these systems reflect the protagonists and their situations or the overall fact that killing the monsters is bad even though it is in self defense?

    What do you prefer?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 12:07 PM PST

With all of the buzz and rumors floating around SH these past few week it seems fairly probable that we could be seeing SH news at the next E3.

Are you hoping the franchise returns as a remake? remaster? or a new entry?

Lately and in the near future, Capcom has been very successful with Resident Evil remakes. Is this a trend to follow or steer clear from?

Personally, SH should forge it's own path. Back in 99' RE and SH were seen as competitors in their respective genres but I don't think this holds up anymore. Yea, RE is healthy and ready for even more success with RE3 remake but SH won't benefit as much from a revisit.

Resident Evil 7 was a huge success for Capcom's franchise and I think Konami should do something similar to revive the franchise. Reimagine the franchise to push it forward while retaining it's uniqueness and acknowledging nostalgia. After this I could see Konami feeling confident and the stage being sent for remakes / remasters.

Sadly, PT seemed to be what the series needed and that wound still feels fresh but I think it's time to push the franchise further, reinvent itself, and learn from their mistakes.

"Searching for Another Conclusion" memo isn't appearing for me in Silent Hill 2?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 02:58 PM PST

I know you need to beat the game once then it'll appear in room 205 of Wood Side apartments, but for some reason it's not spawning for me. My guess is that I already got all the endings so I don't need the hints anymore, but nothing online says that should be the case. Does it stop spawning once you get all the endings?

I know this is kinda a random/unimportant thing to ask considering that I already got and know how to get all the endings, but I'm just genuinely curious. If it does stop spawning once you acquire all the endings then that would be pretty interesting, imo. My other quess is that pcsx2 is experiencing a minor emulation bug.

I appreciate the folks that ripped the music in FLAC format for the Complete Soundtracks. So much atmospheric music missing from the official soundtracks. On the bus ride home.

Difference between Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 07:46 PM PST

Hey all, I was wondering, is there a difference between Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams? I've been thinking about getting it on abandonware and was wondering if the silent hill 2 hd mod works on it.

    New silent hill?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 01:40 PM PST

I've seen a lot of post recently saying that's almost confirmed that a new silent hill is being created. To be fair I'm still not sure about that because the only proof they have are some twitts from Kojima that could be meaningless. The only tweet that it's relevant for me it's the one from Masahiro Ito. https://twitter.com/adsk4/status/1233479004738539525?s=19 Anyway, I would like to know what do you think? It's really possible or not at all?

    Silent Hill 2 VR Fanmade

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 04:54 AM PST

    https://youtu.be/K-iR7Bo0PzU

Will Konami ever do anything with the Silent Hill IP again? We certainly hope so, and with rumours of some sort of reboot in the works, our dreams might come true before too long. However, fans who are tired of waiting for the Japanese publisher to do something are now taking things into their own hands, with this excellent Silent Hill 2 VR trailer to prove it.

Put together by David Post, who is also the creator behind the Death Stranding PSone trailer demake, the footage above captures the terrifying atmosphere of the town to a tee, complete with the sort of monsters you'd find within its depths. We're especially impressed by the attempt to adapt the classic item menu to VR -- situated on your arm with navigation controlled by your free hand. There is even a Pyramid Head sighting and a return to that bowling alley cutscene. Shot entirely in first-person, this is one of the best fanmade trailers we've come across in quite some time. Can Konami better it? We'll see.

Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition Resolution setting questions

    Posted: 04 Mar 2020 08:54 AM PST

I got silent hill 2 EE, game runs great and everything looks lovely. But, the game resolution is set to 868 or something like that. I know 0 is supposed to be your monitors natural resolution but i'm playing on a 1080 tv. I know i can go to that document to change res-x and res-y but do i change res-x from 0 to 1920 and then 1080 in the other? I'm also unsure which one (x or y) controls height or width. Finally, i haven't really messed with that d3d8.ini document. From what i read i should have the game in windowed mode to change resolutions? Do i just open it as a text file change number values and save it?

Thank you in advance to anyone posting answers, i tried looking this up but i'm kinda stupid with computers
