I just finished SH2 for the first time. Posted: 08 May 2020 10:27 AM PDT I've been a Resident Evil fan since I was a kid, and I'm just now checking out other survival horror. There's probably nothing I can say about it that hasn't already been said, but this game really blew me away. I went into it with the twist at the end spoiled for me, but it was STILL satisfying to watch it all come together. I especially liked Angela's inclusion. I feel like a lot of horror likes to go "look! rape! how shocking!" but it was done in a much more interesting way here. The burning staircase scene- especially Angela's line "You can see it too? For me, it's always like this."- was a great representation of mental illness resulting from trauma. I'm looking forward to going on with this series, and hopefully becoming more active in community discussion so I can hear other peoples thoughts and theories. Like I said, I know there's nothing new to be said about this nearly 20 year old game, but I just wanted to share my feelings about it somewhere. Also, I cleared the game in 10+ hours and got a 4-star rating, so feel free to make fun of how bad I am at these games :') [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 May 2020 08:08 PM PDT Hello There, it is I. that guy that made the Silent Hill 2 HD Voice Pack for the enhanced Edition on Pc. This preview of the Silent Hill 3 HD Voice Pack is about 2 months old. I didn't make a moddb page for this project yet because I didn't think it was ready. In March I ported cutscene vo and common gameplay vo. but the game had some issues. It would run out of audio memory the longer you played or whenever you needed to reload, leading to a black screen or Crash to the desktop. now this would happen randomly. But today I moved the entire mod over to Reloaded II Mod Loader. it essentially started as a mod loader for Sonic Heroes but has since branched out into just being a jack of all traits loader. I asked the creator, a good friend of mine to help me out with getting this working and it works no more crashes. Now here's a question for y'all... :Should I force people to get Reloaded II when you can just drag and replace? if you do go with drag and replace? you'll get crashes... tons of em if you do do that. I would like some input on this. Now I know that the HD port is controversial for various reasons. But I'm simply doing this out of boredom and fun, and to document the HD port sound formats and way it functions and why some stuff is bricked the way it is. Here's a preview made in march: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGZm122SAEA [link] [comments]
Is this a "OK" way to play SH? Posted: 08 May 2020 04:20 PM PDT Ive just started playing SH1 for the first time and im kinda ashamed to admit that i had to google the first 2 puzzles (the one of the 3 key at the start and the other one about the gold and silver medallion's that you have to put into the clock tower) because it is really confusing and would have taken 1+ hours for me to get, now, is this a acceptable way to enjoy the series? i dont really feel like it's good to play this way because i get it ruins the game's point for adding puzzles but what do you guys think? Posted: 07 May 2020 09:43 PM PDT So with the announcement that Medium, seemingly a very silent hill inspired game, I wanted to ask the community about your favorites of his works. I obviously love his SH 1-3 OSTs, and listen the OST of 2 pretty much any time I want to read horror or anything with a depressing mood. Its just amazing music. But recently I also played the game the 25th Ward (fantastic game so far, very interesting, haven't beat it yet so please don't spoil!) and was enjoying a track, so I looked up and lo and behold its also Yamaoka on the soundtrack. Was wondering whats your favorites of his and if his other albums for other games he's made OSTs for (like Let It Die, or Silent Hill Homecoming) are worth a listen as well! [link] [comments] |
