Akira Yamaoka was mentioned, maybe working on it as well?

Edit: Akira helped with the soundtrack, which sounds good just from watching the trailer.

Hey boys! Looks like we are getting a new Silent Hill game (sort of)

    Posted: 07 May 2020 08:27 AM PDT

A trailer just dropped for The Medium, a new current and next gen title that is set to release in 2020 (it will be a part of Xbox Game Pass). When I was watching the trailer live, my gut feeling was that it will be either a Silent Hill title, or something very similar to it - especially when I heard that its soundtrack is very reminiscent of Akira Yamaoka's work - I even asked myself, did he do the music for this game?

And... yes! Not just that he is the composer of the game, but the at the ending directly mentions Silent Hill and this game will be a psychological and survival horror, just as the Silent Hill titles. I simply can't wait for this to come out!

I didn't include the toadstool and hummer, because they're more obstacles than monsters.

Blooper Team on collaborating with Akira Yamaoka and Silent Hill 2

    From Inside Xbox stream:

"Akira Yamaoka is the best known for composing music for Silent hill series and what was most important for us it his work on Silent Hill 2 because The Silent Hill 2 for the most of our team is best horror game ever and our main references when we think about atmosphere in The Medium."

    Question about Mumblers

    Posted: 07 May 2020 04:47 PM PDT

Okay. So just hear me out. I've never played Silent Hill. The only reason I know about 3 or 4 of the emenies is because of a Fallout 4 mod I'm playing, Whispering Hills. I'm doing my own thing at Sanctuary. Scraping and building. Well during that, before it got foggy, a mumbler appeared. Didn't attack since I'm in the workshop menu, so I keep moving. I looked back quickly and it didn't move so I went inside and apon coming out, the original one moved and there was a new one. Kept moving and it seemed like they moved when I wasn't looking. Mu question is.... does this actually happen in Silent Hill? I'm quite curious about Silent Hill since I picked up the mod. Anyone know YouTubers that played?

    Silent Hill 3 - Intense?!

    Posted: 07 May 2020 05:23 AM PDT

I recently finished SH2 for the first time, I absolutely loved it. I think it appealed to my own preferences, the psychological aspect of it, the ambient music/sounds etc. I could barely pull myself away from it. I found myself replaying the songs in my head before going to sleep!

I started SH3 last night it felt completely different...

The introduction of the 'monsters' was extremely quick, you get a gun straight away and immediately have giant monsters, dogs and small monsters after you. There was no mystique surrounding it. SH2 felt like it was paced better and the scares were more spine chilling, like the first time you see Pyramid Head behind the bars. SH3 also felt a lot more intense to the point I had to stop playing. I got to the part where you take the elevator down in the mall and you end up in the 'altered reality' I assume. Upon exiting the lift the music is loud & intense, the sounds are loud & intense, there are dogs everywhere, it just felt a bit much. Definitely more action oriented.

In short, the atmosphere feels completely different. SH2 was haunting, almost melancholy, but SH3 feels like it's screaming in your face.

Is the rest of the game like this? I may have to pass. Is 4 anymore like 2? Slightly slower paced, more spooky than horrific?

The original 4 Silent Hill games need a remake, like their doing with the RE games. Anyone else agree?

    Posted: 06 May 2020 11:59 PM PDT

I feel like it would bring new life into the games, and would probably look scary as hell with the current-gen graphics we have. But, sadly, we probably won't get one. :( Lets get a discussion going, if we can
