Best possible visual quality on PS2? Posted: 17 Jul 2020 04:47 PM PDT I just purchased the original Silent Hill 2 and 3 for PS2, but have a 4K TV. I want the sharpest image possible, but am aware of the limitations. I'm willing to purchase inexpensive hardware, if necessary. [link] [comments]

Can't Get Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition to Recognize DS4 Controller Posted: 17 Jul 2020 07:20 PM PDT For some reason I can't get Silent Hill 2 Enhanced to recognize my DS4 Controller even when using DS4Windows, but my xbox 360 controller works perfectly (my xbox controller is really worn down and I'd prefer to use my DS4). Any help? If this isn't the right place I'm sorry. [link] [comments]

I've Never Read These Quotes Before, But They Make WAY Too Much Sense Now Posted: 17 Jul 2020 04:54 AM PDT This quote from Jordan Amaro, a level designer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, sounds virtually prophetic in retrospect regarding Konami's current attitude toward gaming and game development: "Why risk producing pricey and sophisticated games in an age that favors indulgence in shallow, convenient entertainment?" Whether Amaro was being genuine or sarcastic, it speaks volumes. It certainly says a lot about what different people define as progress. Another quote from former Konami employee Ryan Payton elaborates: "We've seen the end of the console-game market in Japan, even by the time Metal Gear Solid IV shipped in 2008. I feel like our team was one of just a handful of Japan-based developers who were still fighting to produce blockbuster games." And now, here we are, still having similar if not the exact same conversations about the nature of "risk" regarding what's worth the effort in a quality product vs. the bottom line. In an interview, Konami CEO Hideki Hayakawa drove the point home: "Gaming has spread to a number of platforms, but at the end of the day, the platform that is always closest to us, is mobile. Mobile is where the future of gaming lies. With multiplatform games, there's really no point in dividing the market into categories anymore. Mobile will take on the new role of linking the general public to the gaming world." The bitter truth is, for a number of individuals in the industry, this is all video games mean to them. This is all the value they hold, all they're worth as a medium. Unfortunately, I don't see it getting better anytime soon (even if some change has happened). Perhaps some who didn't grow up with a passion for gaming can never truly understand, and that's sad. But as long as people who think this way hold all the power and consumers keep enabling it by buying their content, the cycle will only continue. [link] [comments]
