Silent Hill Fans what other games compelled you?? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 11:38 AM PDT As a massive silent hill fan, I wanted to know what other games compelled you and moved you the way silent hill has, list some other games that you think are masterpieces. A game I recommend is THE TALOS PRINCIPLE, this game is also a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time, if silent hills fans are looking for another masterpiece to enjoy I recommend this one. The Talos principle has an incredible soundtrack, and the lore is fantastic as well, were even getting a sequel to it as well, has anyone els played The Talos principle, if silent hill fans are looking for another game to compel you, THE TALOS PRINCIPLE is it! Can we just talk about how much of a drama queen Henry is when it comes to dying. Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:24 AM PDT Seriously. Man has gotta slowly and dramatically fall to his knees and follow it up with a hard scream before falling to his death. Talk about a fucking Diva. [link] [comments]
Tips for Mary/Maria boss on Hard? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:38 PM PDT I've been stuck fighting her for like 2 hours. Not really sure what to do. I only have 2 health drinks left and am really not feeling like loading a save. Part of me feels like it's bugged because I've seen playthroughs of people just running in circles for 10 minites but i tried that and nothing happened. I tried the great knife but i don't have enough healing items though i should because i hit her 8 times with it and she didn't die despite a playthrough showing me it would kill her in 4. Sorry if all of this sounds incoherent. Just frustrated atm. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:32 PM PDT I need to defeat the Flesh Lips guys in SH 2 but i have no ammo and i'm one hit please help i can't find any healing items or ammo [link] [comments]
Is Silent Hill 4 too scary for its own good? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 01:28 AM PDT i mean the gameplay concerns aside, this has always been my issue with this game. It's far, far too scary and it's so exhausting to sit through compared to the other three entries which all strike a balance of horror and satisfying sadness (minding SH1 and being dated). I recall that Resident Evil 4 was initially conceived to be like SH4 and scrapped for these concerns. The hubworld of SH4 is nauseating as hell and never makes you feel safe, the inclusion of ghosts (especially Kayako-lite) as enemies, hauntings, and Walter is the most disturbing character in the entire series. Whereas Alessa and Claudia are sympathetic, Walter's whole backstory is pure terror. I still remember to this day of abruptly turning off the game when the Twin Victims first appeared. The cutscene of Kayako-lite (spoiler nickname) first appearing is still one of the scariest cutscenes in the series. In a franchise associated with organic/fleshy monsters, it really stands out. There's just no point in SH4 where you feel anything but fear and tension. It's so nerving wracking to play compared to the calm and sophisticated feeling of replaying SH2 every few years. Posted: 05 Jul 2020 03:28 AM PDT This is something that hit me the other day playing SH4: the only reason the world still exists at all (in the SH universe), is because Alessa was Alessa. Had it been someone weak like Walter, the Order would have succeeded, and "God" would be running rampant. Walter is probably the weakest person in all of SH, especially because you can compare him with Alessa and see how he was dominated by everything she overcame. Now, when I say Walter is weak, that is meant in context: just about any other normal person would've ended up broken just like Walter, if they went through what he went. It is just that, since he can be compared in several ways with Alessa, the contrast is too stark and really shows how far Walter fell, and how incredibly stronger Alessa is as a person. Both are children of the cult, and initially they both deeply believed in its teachings, but, while Alessa had the clarity and independent thinking to see it for what it was, Walter wasn't able to free his mind from the cult's religion. Both went through horrifying child abuse, but while Alessa overcame something worse than anything Walter ever faced, he succumbed and ended up completely molded by it. He ended up as an agent of Dahlia, while Alessa became her biggest foe. Both of them were bullied and ostracized by other children, but while Alessa kept moving with her life, Walter ended up with more permanent scars on his psyche. And finally, and maybe the most important thing: while Alessa acquired true strength, a love for life, and the tenacity to fight for it, Walter regressed to the most infantile of drives a human mind can end up at: wanting to return to the womb [link] [comments]
Is anyone selling Silent Hill 1-4 for the PS2, or Homecoming for the PS3? Posted: 05 Jul 2020 10:48 AM PDT These are my absolute favorite games, and when my ex destroyed my things, a lot of my favorite PS1 & 2 games when with it. He went for the ones he knew I loved, and all of my Silent Hill games were among those. I've tried looking everywhere, but they're always $120 plus for one game and I can't afford to pay that much per game. If anyone here has extra copies, tips for places to buy them, knows a guy who knows a guy, I would appreciate the help so much! Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
