Silent Hill Upon turning the brightness up of this intro scene, one can see that James is initially looking directly into the ‘camera’ as opposed to his reflection at first. This is never noticeable in-game but suggests James is gazing at us as the player.

Do I need to play 2 and 3 to understand anything in 4?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:22 PM PDT

I'm using the Japanese PS3 store round about way to purchase SH4 and play it, but is it crucial I experience the second and third game beforehand? Im not skipping them on purpose mind you, I'm just waiting on my friend to lend me his copy of 2 and then once I can eventually get my hands on 3 for the PS2 I'll play that as well. I just got to the school in the first game and I'm hooked!

    Random Weird Question

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 05:22 PM PDT

Does anyone know the default FOV of the Silent Hill games, particularly Silent Hill 3? Is it 60 degrees? Just wondering because I downloaded the sh3proxy for the PC version of the game and it switched my FOV to 90 degrees. There's a bunch of dope features in the proxy, but I'd actually prefer to switch the FOV back to default.

    Thank you!

    Screwed myself over (SH3 spoilers)

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 10:27 AM PDT

So my girlfriend and I have been playing through Silent Hill 3 after beating 2, and it was going great solving the puzzles together until the nightmare hospital...I absolutely hate this area in 3 so my girfriend and I got pretty drunk in order to offset the terror before playing through.

We ended up beating it but I wasted a shitload of ammo and health on the slurper ambushes which kind of screwed me for the rest of the game. I made it through the amusement park and killed Alessa memory, and now just past the cutscene with Vincent in the church. The problem is I have no health items at all, I'm in the red flashing health and have like maybe 13 handgun bullets, missed the stungun altogether (during the drunken hospital visit no doubt) and a few shotgun shells.

I keep getting one shot by those really fast blade arm dudes (slicers?) And pretty sure Ill be fighting a final boss soon. My question is should I go all the way back to my hospital save (right before leonard with lots of ammo and a bit of health), reload my save before Alessa Memory and try and beat her with Melee weapons ( still only have a very small amount of health items here) or try and blitz past everybody and finish the game where I am? I havent read anything about the final boss yet but I highly doubt I can melee it to death with no health

Edit: this is on normal combat and riddle mode
