Does anyone have PC saves for SH2 ? Posted: 30 Oct 2020 05:14 PM PDT I'm playing the game for the first time and I find it too hard. You can't change the difficulty during the game and I'd like to avoid replaying a part of it. I did some research and only found 100% completion and easy mode saves. So I'm looking for a save in normal difficulty (for action, ideally normal for the riddles too) around the beginning of the hospital. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 30 Oct 2020 10:13 AM PDT So I recently found out that the Silent Hill movie is leaving Prime Video soon, so I decided to watch it for the first time. Mostly because I've completely starved for SH content, as I don't own a PS2, all copies of the PC versions are insanely expensive, and I've horrible with technical stuff so I can't figure out emulation if my life depended on it. I haven't played the original game, so I don't know exactly how the characters hold up against it, but I did my best to give my thoughts. Things I liked -The set design/costumes/makeup. OH MY GOD THESE SETS ARE PERFECT! I haven't seen much gameplay of the first SH (mostly because I want to go in as blind as possible) but from what little I have seen, the filmmakers nailed it. And the makeup-- maybe I'm just biased because I can't do makeup, but WOW! They did an amazing job! -The changes from the Fog World to the Otherworld. I worship that practical effects, I love them, I want them, get out of here CGI, this is all I need. -The monster designs. I don't know how much came from the game, but either way, the janitor was delightfully twisted and I loved that representation. I wish we saw more of them, but the movie was two hours long already so I guess they couldn't fit it in. -The soundtrack. They used a lot of the game OST by Akira, and hearing it on the big screen was really appreciated. Every time I hear Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me I feel warm inside, and when it played when Rose was wandering around the town-- perfection. -Cybil. Once again, I haven't played the OG game, but damn was Cybil a BAMF in this. I know she's suspicious of Rose at first, but an outsider trying to help and protect children is a brilliant parallel to the insular cult. She realizes something's fishy and tries to look out for Sharon, and is a big help to Rose. Fun fact, this movie passes the Bechdel Test, which I am very happy about. Idk, maybe I just like strong, caring policewomen, but I think it's a damn shame she died in the end. -Christabella's actress. The plastic-y, cold, detached way she played the character in contrast to the firely speeches really captured the essence of a cult leader. Her character I don't really like, but the actress tried very hard, and I can respect that. -The child actress they got to play Evil Alessa. Okay, the child actress is terrible as Sharon, but when she's Evil Alessa she kills it in my eyes. The stilted, awkward delivery and odd, programmed body language really sells the idea that this thing is a demon trying to act human. (Until Revelation reconned it but I'm ignoring that movie on principles mostly based around MY BOY VINCENT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!) From what I saw in her, she did a good job portraying the source of the evil, and watching her dance in Christabella's gore was weirdly satisfying. Things I didn't like -Dahlia. I don't know if I'm right or not, but wasn't Dahlia, like, really abusive in the game. Making her into this depressed, regretful mother that was only pressured into doing what she did by the cult just didn't sit right with me. Why even create Christabella, just put Dahlia in her place! Then again, who else will be the exposition machine. -Changing Harry to Rose. Okay, this is a nitpick, but I just don't like that. I know the studio said to do it, which is insane. God forbid a man show emotion, or care about the wellbeing of his child. No, it's only women that feel that way. It's the woman's job to go through hell for the sake of their child. The man just sits on the sidelines and deals. Goddammit, Harry was amazing in SH1, why'd you have to do him like that? -The Nurses/Pyramid Head. I know they're iconic and shit, but goddammit it's annoying. JAMES ISN'T HERE STOP PUTTING THEM IN! STOP IT! And the whole "nurses are attracted to light" thing was really irritating. Just stop. Stop it. Ito hates Pyramid Head now, stop it! -The Sean Bean parts. It's Sean Bean, I should like him, but his parts really took me out of the movie. I can't even remember his character's name. Usually Sean Bean's character is ironed into my head but this was just-- flat. Again, I know the studio told them to put the scenes in, but I really think the movie would've benefited from just making Rose a single mother. Like Harry. -Sharon. The child actress was terrible as her. She really shone as Evil Alessa, and I'm glad that EA got more screentime. But every time I heard Sharon's screechy "mommy!" I wanted to gouge out my own eardrums. -Christabella. I don't mind them changing the cult to a Christian sect, as it was more recognizable and explaining the whole cult dynamics in a movie is hard. But why use Christabella, just use Dahlia! Why make up a new character when Dahlia is right there? I just don't get her existence! The eh -The plot. It was-- serviceable. It wasn't SH1, but it was okay. It made sense on the surface at least, and that was good. I'm sure if I played the game I'd be angrier about it. But it was a vehicle for the movie to exist so idk. -Lisa. She should've had a bigger part like she did in the game. And have that soul-crushing theme deserved to make it in. I did like her "crying blood" makeup though, that was awesome. -The police guy. He just existed. I mean, he got his hands burnt up dragging Alessa out of hell, you couldn't have done more with him? But I guess there wasn't enough time. Conclusion It was good. I enjoyed it. But some parts were kinda rushed and questionable. But they tried to capture the feeling of the game though, and I can respect that. I do think it would've worked better as a miniseries or something. [link] [comments] |
