    Heather Mason vest? Help!

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 06:27 PM PDT

For Halloween this year I want to cosplay Heather, and I've found everything — except the dang vest. I've looked high and low in the crevices of the internet and cannot for the LIFE of me find one. I've even tried looking up jackets and I could cut the sleeves off of — nothing! I've found every other color BUT white. Does anyone have any suggestions or places to check? I know there was another thread about this before, but it didn't have much answers.

My thoughts on NON-Team Silent games :) (and my experience with the franchise)

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:03 PM PDT

i've noticed a TON of hate towards origins, shattered memories, and ESPECIALLY homecoming+downpour over my time in this subreddit- so i thought i'd share my own views on them- as well as my experience with the franchise. i first knew of silent hill back when the condemned 😱HD COLLECTION😱 came out. yes i know this is not the best place to start the franchise haha, in fact it may even be the worst. nonetheless- i've been an artist my entire life, and seeing the front and back cover of the hd collection when i was younger really spoke to me and intrigued me like nothing else ever had. to this day i've never seen any other game outside of the silent hill franchise that i truly resonate with and can see my own art style in (besides clive barker's jericho which is amazing IM/unpopular/O)- as my own art is typically dark, grotesque, sexually themed, and- well- confusing at times. since then i've played nearly every game in the silent hill franchise and have come to love them all. like most SH fans, i find 1-4 to be phenomenal. the characters, monster design, atmosphere, and stories are truly incomparable to anything outside of the the SH franchise. however when it comes to the games made after 4 is when i tend to stray away from the collective mindset of the general SH fanbase. i believe that the amount of negativity towards origins-downpour is undeservedly harsh and unfair towards the devs who made them, and the franchise as a whole. IMO they are all incredible. they absolutely nail the eerie and grungy atmosphere that the originals maintained, (with an exception to shattered memories, only because it took its own tonal liberties) and the monster designs are some of the best in the franchise. and i mean that's really what makes all silent hill games great, right? i'll admit that the narrative in some of the non team silent games may not be the strongest of the franchise, but that shouldn't be a reason to chase newer players away from them like i see a lot of more veteran fans do. i also do not understand the amount of- well, ignorance, that targets them. ESPECIALLY with homecoming and downpour. i couldn't even count how many times I've seen this: "homecoming/downpour is garbage because they aren't like the originals"... fear of change is the death of growth and variety. and to label homecoming and downpour as the death of the silent hill franchise is unfair in every sense of the word. in fact- i couldn't imagine anything besides homecoming+downpour when i think "modern silent hill game". i feel that the devs did the best they could, and created 2 amazing games that the fanbase just shAt on :/ which is very unfortunate because they are absolutely amazing in their own rights, i just wish more people would give them a chance instead if instantly disregarding the revolutionary ideas they presented due to them being labeled as "the bad silent hill games". (you're finally nearing the end of this rant, congratulations :3 however i feel very strongly about this so i'm going to give it its own mini rant: SH HOMECOMING COMBAT. am i really the only one who finds alex's little spins and combo moves incredibly charming??? is it ridiculous? absolutely. lmao. but i mean come on, look at the original 1-4... is that the kind of fighting style we want in a modern video game? just repeatedly wacking something untill it falls down? basic and repetitious animations with no variety? come on guys. also to argue "it doesnt fit the tone of the other silent hill games"... HELLO? dog ending? heather's magical girl costume? douglas in his undies? sh definitely has a quirky sense of humor- it's just well hidden) !!!IN CONCLUSION!!! i invite you all to open your minds and your hearts to the magical world that is non team silent made SH games. thank you for making it this far in my pointless rant. please comment on how you feel about non-team silent SH games, and/or how you got into SH! have a great day :)

Does SH4 gog need the steam006 patch? Any texture mods?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:02 PM PDT

Game looks fucking ugly but I think the steam006 patch will fix the worst stuff.

Are there any 4k texture mods or anything out there?

What would be your "Silent Hill Music Theme"?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:11 AM PDT

In my case, the theme of Laura from Silent Hill 2 or Illusion on Me from Silent Hill Origins.

Progress on beating all of the games

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:56 PM PDT

Just beat Homecoming which puts me at 6/8 of the games completed! I'm sad to say so far Homecoming has been my least favorite, I really wanted to enjoy it more and I think it does do some cool things but it started to feel like a hassle at times :(

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:51 AM PDT

Hey I just found out that SH4 and I'm planning on getting it but before I do I was wondering if their was anything wrong with the port, or differences between it and the ps2 version. Also does it have controller support? I'm pretty awful with a keyboard and mouse.

What do you guys think of the Silent Hill: Revelations Soundtrack?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:43 AM PDT

I was browsing Spotify and ended up listening to the soundtrack of Revelations.

And well, I actually really like it tbh. It does have a lot of rearrangements of older songs, but it def has a nice feel to it, imo.

Without the movie actually being there, it actually makes it sound so much better!

So if we take the movie and it's plot out the picture entirety and just focus solely on the soundtrack, what do y'all think of it?

If anyone is looking to put some portable Silent Hill Gems on their PS vita. Hit me up. I’ll help you guys out. I recommend Silent Hill Origins because it feels more like a Silent Hill game than SHSM.

Anyone remember Silent Hill: Shattered Dimensions being Rated T for Teens?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 10:04 AM PDT

Maybe it's just Mandela Effect but I remember that being the case when I was little.
