- Just got Silent Hill 2 on PS2 for $24. Wish it came with the manual but I’m glad to be holding this in my hands, this is one of my favorite horror games of all-time. What do you guys think? The ST for SH2 is amazing and I constantly listen to it on Apple Music

Your favorite parts of each game? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 10:52 AM PST Silent Hill 1: I really like the simpler environments like finding a makeshift church behind the antique shop, but the opening incident is my favorite. I love the camera angles they use. I love the dead monster's design. I love that you panic because you don't expect to die so easily and early. Silent Hill 2: The prison is the scariest level for me in the original 3 but my favorite moment is at the end when James realizes the purpose behind Pyramid Head. I love the symbolism - right down to a clean egg (Maria or youthful Mary) and the older egg (sick Mary). I get chills afterwards when Mary can be heard cycling through her emotions, including how terrible she treated James because she was angry and scared. Silent Hill 3: I like the events in the church where you learn that the cult members aren't evil. Most people are like Vincent in that they believe Claudia is a radical. You also find out how growing up in Silent Hill with propaganda being normalized has made people like Claudia so set on birthing God. Silent Hill IV: I really like the water prison level when you first encounter it. Up until that point SH4 levels were based in realistic environments but the notion that there exists a prison for children really made me feel uncomfortable while sparking an interest. Homecoming: I really like the cemetary in Shepherd's hometown. Reading the graves and statues gives you a rich understanding of the town. I also believe Homecoming has the best boss battles. Origins: For my the Otherworld version of the motel is what my mind goes to when I picture grotesque. There's some cool level design such as a narrow hallway for employees where you can spy on the rooms. My heart jumped when you see the Butcher in his room and then with a second look he vanished Downpour: I like the more structured environments that called back to 1-3. For example I like the citadel near the end of the game. I like the apartment sidequest where you have to pacify each of the ghost tenants. For example one tenant had his military badges stolen. It's really creepy hearing the ghosts whisper as if they barely acknowledge your presence. [link] [comments] | ||

Anyone else having this problem? Posted: 01 Dec 2019 11:11 AM PST So I'm at the part in Silent Hill 2 where you have to row across the lake to get to the Lakeview Hotel, and of course, in order to find your way, you have to follow the hotel light, but first, you have to move your boat around a little to see the light before you go forward. The problem is, I can't find the light. I've turned left, right, I even just went forward, and I can't find it. I've played this game for years and have never had this problem. Any ideas/solutions? Thanks! Note: Idk if it matters, but I'm playing on the Greatest Hits version on my PS2. [link] [comments] |
