    I'll occasionally return to 2 and 3's OST for the chill beats or the ambient tracks, but 1, not as often. I've noticed every time I listen to SH1's soundtrack it sends chills down my spine no matter what time of day it is, it's like legitimately horror music. Yamaoka nailed not only the 'creepy' vibe but the full-on evil nightmare aesthetic lol.

    I got a PS1 afew days ago along with silent hill. I'm wondering. Which difficulty should I play on and is there anything else I should keep in mind?

    Hatred for Silent Hill: Homecoming?

    It is currently 6 AM and I spend my night playing through Silent Hill: Homecoming. I found it at a retro game store (while looking for it and Downpour) and finally got to it today.

    I always see people speak so poorly about the American-made Silent Hill games post-SH4, but after playing through Homecoming, I don't understand why this one is hated. Let me pre-face this by stating that I have played the original four Silent Hill games prior to this one. I still plan to play Downpour, and if I enjoy that game, possibly the other two.

    I noticed it took a few cues from the first film, such as the Otherworld transitions or Red Pyramid Thing's redesign and presence, as well as mirroring some elements from SH2. I feel as though this game did a good job blending together the cult present within Silent Hill and a dive into the psyche of its characters.

    The focus on combat could be annoying at times, and the game had some serious performance issues, but I was able to look past them and enjoyed the core of the game. The atmosphere, music, and characters are what I care most about in a Silent Hill game, and I feel Homecoming delivered. Was it on par with SH2? No, but I enjoyed it more than SH4 by quite a bit and it might rival 3 and 1 for me, personally.

    I know opinions are subjective, but is there good reason why Homecoming (and possibly the others by extension) are so hated outside of the fact that it was not Team Silent working on them? I'd like to hear your opinions on your experiences with the game, and if you want, the other American-made titles.

    TL;DR: I enjoyed Homecoming quite a bit and would like to know why it is hated so in the community.

    is Downpour Silent Hill 6 or 8?

    1 to 4 no mystery

    Origins is like Silent hill 0

    we can put a number in Shattered Memories because well is just a another interpretation of Silent hill 1

    soo Homecoming is 5 and Downpour is 6

    or should we count Origins and Shatered Memories as 5 and 7(this making Homecoming 6 and Downpour 8)?

    Silent Hill HD collection for xbox 360 on sale at my local game shop, $27, worth it?

    Been wanting the Silent Hill games ever since I watched the playthroughs on Youtube, fell in love.

    Plan is to buy a PS2 ($50) SH ($60) SH2 ($70) and SH3 ($70) all in "like new" condition, black label version, totaling about $250.

    But if I buy the HD remaster, I could instead buy a PS1 ($30) and SH $70 and spend only aroond $130.

    Then PLAN C is buy Silent Hill for the PS4, Silent Hil 2 and 3 for PC, and that might cost aroond $50.

    I know the HD remaster is a mess, but I really wanna enjoy these games and I'm tempted to just buy it and maybe return it after, but is it even worth it?
