What version is the best version of Silent Hill 2?

    Posted: 18 May 2020 04:03 PM PDT

I finally convinced my bf to start playing my favorite game series and he is finishing the first one. I have old pc copy of second one, but I heard ps2 version is somehow better? Can I ask what is the difference? Should I emulate it? I know there is also Enhanced Edition mod, but I saw some complaints music with this mod is very quiet, and I remember wonderful music being essential in this game.

Which version would you recommend for first time player? Pc, Pc with enhanced edition mod, ps2 or ps3 HD? Are there any other versions? I only played basic cd versions so idk what to choose.

My Final P.T. Theory I promise.

    Posted: 18 May 2020 01:34 PM PDT

So a while back I posted a theory about how Silent Hills would roll off of the Walter story from SH4. I think what we were going to experience is Joseph the reporter and what he was trying to figure out about Walter/The Order There are so many connections.

    °Just for a couple I've found.

    °J(from PT) could be Joseph.

°This gap (hole) in the reality is experienced and brought up constantly in SH4.

°Walter was a newborn when he was abandoned. (Fetus in the bathroom) tho the stories don't connect all we know is Walter was abandoned and brought to silent hills orphanage.

°walter supposedly bled out in the prison but when Joseph went to go check the cemetery it was completely ruined. And he believes the police never caught Walter.

°the emphasis on hell and the devil can somewhat be correlated with the message on the wall in P.T.

°204863 is the same entitiy/devil that possessed Walter.

There are way more but I'm pressed for time. I would love to hear what you all think.

What's the best way to experience the Silent Hill games?

    Posted: 18 May 2020 10:52 AM PDT

Despite being a huge fan of horror and a fan of gaming, I've actually never played a Silent Hill game before. I know I've been missing out because I've heard so many great things about the first few games, and from the little footage I've seen it looks rich in atmosphere which is one of my favorite aspects of gaming and horror. I actually own a PlayStation 2, and a PC capable of emulation, but I am unsure of which platform these games should be experienced on. I imagine that obtaining a copy of these games will be pretty expensive, so is emulation a good way to experience these games for the first time?

My second question would be which of these games are worth playing? I know 1 and 2 are the obvious answers, but are there any other entries I should try out?

Is there any way of improving the controls for Silent Hill on PC? - Has anyone else had issues?

    Posted: 18 May 2020 11:25 AM PDT

I recently torrented the first Silent Hill game and even on easy mode, the controls are difficult to work with. I was wondering is anyone has had the same difficulty playing the game on PC? Or if it is something I have to get used to?

Maybe I could change the controls so they are easier to work with? (If so, please share any suggestions to what I could change my controls to)

    Can't get into SH1, have a question about 3

    Posted: 18 May 2020 06:15 AM PDT

I've played SH2 and it is one of my favourite games now, I wanted to play 3 but I heard it requires you to have played 1 for the story. I really can't get into 1 because of the controls mostly, I just can't find it fun, but I've heard that Shattered Memories is a sort of retelling of it?

Is it better to play SM and then 3? Or should I just go straight to 3 given that I'm not going to play 1?
