- I drew Carla Gugino as Lisa from P.T. :) (some backstory. I just wanted to draw a fanart piece of Carla and I wanted to add a horror element to it so I decided to put her in a P.T. (Silent Hills) universe) I hope someone likes this mashup!
- Does anyone have a HQ Link of this poster? Apparently it's super rare.
- Save Silent Hill. Please, I know you have every reason to give up hope, but it seemed when the supposed "leaks" came up everybody had a glimmer of hope. Instead of moping about and letting the IP become obsolete we should seriously do something. Anything

I gotta get this Silent Hill Wiki Unknown/Nowhere nonsense off my chest. Posted: 17 May 2020 10:34 AM PDT On the SH Wiki, Nowhere is labeled Unknown. The reasoning behind it is....
That just sounds like grasping for straws at this point, completely unimportant information for the sake of having it. Calling it Unknown cheapens the mystique behind that last level. The developers called it Nowhere, so it's Nowhere. End of small rant [link] [comments]
What do you people think about DownPour? Posted: 17 May 2020 04:38 PM PDT First of all, i am going to confess it: I never played a Silent Hill game on my life, but i do not care i like it anyway. So i am aware that all the games after 4 were more "weaken" that the originals. But i think that those problem existed because of misdirections and delevopers who did not undestand how does the games works. I REALLY liked DownPours history and premise: A father with a dead son, divorced, and suffering a lot because of that. Eventually gaining the enough force to let the pain go... This is obviusly not a copypaste of 1 and 2 with the dead or missing family member. Is a good combination but because of other aspects like the gameplay or the bad reputation of the modern games it cannot grow to the full potential. Murphy did nothing wrong. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 May 2020 08:01 PM PDT The Archivist: Representing my obsession with preserving information that has caused me to hoard books and magazines, it would resemble a hollow figure with tentacles coming out of it's head, targeting mine, akin to Illithids from DnD. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 May 2020 08:58 PM PDT I know these posts are constant around here, but I need to know the best way to get into the franchise. My current PC is for school and can't really run video games (even minecraft causes immense chugging and lag). I have an Xbox 360/One and account, and I saw the HD collection is backwards compatible. I know it's universally hated and shat on, but currently it would be my only hypothetical way to play. Any tips or advice? [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 May 2020 09:28 AM PDT Hi, way back in 2008 or 2009 I found this fan album with a bunch of fan tracks and remixes on it. One of them was Betrayal with voice overs mixed in. I recently remembered this track but I guess I accidentally deleted it. If anyone knows what track I'm talking about, mind pointing me in the right direction or send me a dm? Thanks. So I completed Silent Hill 3 for the first time Posted: 17 May 2020 01:34 AM PDT So I have say this was a pretty damn good game. I loved the environment especially with bleeding rusted walls that always the hell out of me. The story was pretty well done. The monsters did a good job at making me feel uncomfortable. I really love the music especially that song in the intro "you're not here". The game play is a great balance between hard and easy. The graphics well for a game that came out in 2003 I have to say it looks amazing, it's really impressive that this game is 17 years old and still holds up to this day. So overall I'd give this game an 11/10 it's a great game ! [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 May 2020 10:56 AM PDT Hi, I'm a man, go figure, and I wanna do things. One thing I wanna do is get into Silent Hill, problem is that I dunno where to start or even how. (And yes I am painfully aware of the "HD" collection, and I refuse) what do you all suggest? [link] [comments]
Conspiracy Theory / Alien Abduction / Cosmic Horror SH game idea Posted: 17 May 2020 05:30 AM PDT We've had themes in the series of family melodrama / abuse / psycho-sexual / sexual abuse / loss / guilty conscious but there's also been themes of alien abduction but mostly as an Easter egg or joke or tease like in Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills demo where the classic radio broadcast of H.G. Wells "War of the Worlds" is referenced. I would like for one game, my personal fantasy Silent Hill game, to take this theme more seriously. My influences would be the films 'The Intruders' (1992), 'Fire in the Sky' (1993), and Christopher Walken's underappreciated classic 'Communion' (1989). All very scary and entertaining alien abduction movies. The latter having obviously more charm and Silent Hill esque brevity value because of Walken's performance and the movie's tone in general which would be an easy watch alongside Twin Peaks (another Silent Hill inspiration, I believe). Speaking of which, from the very beginning of the Silent Hill series one of the main inspirations was Stephen King's 'The Mist.' Here's where the conspiracy elements and cosmic horror comes in for me. We know Silent Hill draws tragically lost souls to its domain and that occultists dwell within its city limits. But in the nearby region, maybe just outside the forests surrounding the resort town, could be a top secret military / government black site like Project Arrowhead from The Mist. Our protagonist could very well be a victim of experimentation from there. Something that occurred throughout their life. They've grown up believing or having repressed memories of alien abduction. Once an adult, and dealing with this lifelong trauma, they become very paranoid. Seeing symbology in everyday life (drawing from Silent Hill's already rich lore of occult symbolism). They think there are reptilian humanoids living among the populace and that they are being stalked and spied upon. They believe they astral project to a strange eerie quiet town and to other dimensions at times of great stress. Eventually through their paranoid research they find out about the actual town of Silent Hill and travel there. Being quite unhinged, they draw attention of the few townspeople about and the ones running the top secret testing site just outside of Silent Hill. The game takes place mostly about town and at the military base. The protagonist journeyed to Silent Hill but how he gets to the base and finds out the darker secrets behind it all I haven't quite figured out yet. Enemies could include townspeople who are actually "alien" human hybrids, the soldiers from the base but in a variety of forms from regular human soldiers to again "alien" human hybrids and more disturbing cosmic horror forms, crazed scientists in the above mentioned forms, "greys" but not in the cartoonish variety but a more disturbing and haunting form, and a more cosmic horror almost "Bloodborne" esque take on Silent Hill bosses. My take doesn't erase any of the past lore or anything. If the cult is still there they stay well hidden and it may even be hinted at that some in the cult have ties to the black site military base through pieces of in game text. We question our unreliable narrator protagonist throughout regarding their sanity. I don't know. Maybe this is all bad ideas (especially taking what is traditionally more "Hellraiser" and "Jacob's Ladder" and switching the themes to emphasize something more akin to "Invasion of the Bodysnatchers" and science fiction. But I've always felt like the demons and god(s) from Silent Hill could just be aliens from another dimension that the cult worships and that trouble the lost souls drawn there. the major theme of birthing a god is also something very Ridley Scott "Alien" to me and Bloodborne esque and fits very much into the alien abduction conspiracy realm of alien impregnation of humans who are abducted. Modern Silent Hill | The Poisoned Well Posted: 17 May 2020 09:15 AM PDT Just a retrospective on the Western-developed Silent Hill games that's worth watching. Has probably been posted before but I feel like it deserves more views, especially for the Silent Hills/Kojima stuff. [link] [comments]

What is the best Silent Hill Album and Album Cover? Posted: 16 May 2020 09:31 PM PDT I haven't listened to any of the the albums in there entirety, but The Room seems to have the best songs so far. Also the album cover for it also seems a bit better than the others, excluding SH2. [link] [comments] |
