    Silent Hill 2: The Ending Requirements

    So I just played this game again for like the 100th time and I wanted the Maria ending. I know this is the hardest ending to get but I have done it before and I do know what you have to do to get it. I also know what NOT to do.

    • I didn't examine Angela's knife
    • I didn't read the diary on the hospital roof
    • I didn't go back to Bar Neeley's to read the message on the wall
    • I didn't listen to the headphones in the hotel
    • I didn't listen to the whole voice scene in the long hallway after defeating the two pyramid heads

    Now I did look at Mary's letter once and I didn't attempt to see Maria again after finding her dead in the prison. These will be why I failed for the Maria ending but...

    Despite not doing all the above bullet points which guarantees you the "In Water" ending I got the "In Water" ending anyway lol.

    I wonder why failing two things failed me the Maria ending but failing five actions for In Water didn't stop me getting it?

    Gave downloading Silent Hill 2 a chance. Was going good till this point. I dunno how to fix it but I'm so close to getting this game to work can anybody help? Will provide more screenshots if necessary. In return I'll livestream a Silent Hill 2 longplay for all you quarantines to pass the time.

    Just got done playing Silent Hill 2 again, made me realize some things.

    Just got done playing the definitive edition on PC, fantastic btw as good if not better than ps2. But finishing has made me realize how i feel about Silent Hill as a series, i only really care about 2. Silent Hill 2 has been this game that in the series thats kinda stood alone in that is has no cult story connected to it or grander threat, it's just a story about grief and guilt, a simple concept with a very complex execution.
    Ofcourse i've played and enjoyed the of Team Silent games but i think i have realized now that i'm only a Diehard Silent Hill 2 fan, not series.
    I guess that's why i was never excited about PT when i played it or about the recent news regarding the new game being rumored, maybe because i don't expect it to be the Silent Hill that i really cared for. To me Silent Hill's theme wasn't the horror but the beauty, not the feeling of dread but the melancholic sadness of memories of lost. I guess i never got that feeling from PT or the trailers of the Silent Hills project.

    But who knows with a new game possibly in the mix, just maybe they might tackle it's story from that perspective instead.
