I'm not sure why, but this strange symbol I made for my car seems so familiar somehow...but my head hurts when I try to remember it...

After my walk through the fog to my hotel overlooking the water, I wish I had my PS2 with me.

If you haven’t read this book, I suggest you do. It’s a difficult read, but it’s as close to a Silent Hill, and it’s terrifying to boot. (Get the actual book, not the kindle version. You’ll thank me.)

How do you think a Modern Silent hill from Toyoma would play like?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 03:29 PM PDT

Curious to know what route they're possibly taking for this rumoured ps5 title.

As you can see with the medium there really going old school with the fixed camera angles. They may also go for the 3rd person over the shoulder look similar to evil within/RE Remakes...or do you see the game going first person?

    Evil Within 2 Gameplay

While there is no Medium gameplay here is RE Remake

Also Inventory management? or nada? id love to hear you guys thoughts.

The first Silent Hill movie is actually really good.

    Posted: 25 Jun 2020 11:50 PM PDT

I don't know the general consensus of the movie in this Reddit but, I'm watching it currently after having a power through of the first 4 games and I gotta say— for its time? It was a damn good attempt at a decent video game movie. Especially with the way they designed the first few shots of Rose in the other world, panning the camera from above like the first few moments from SH1. I know that was probably intentional but it brought a smile to my face watching it.

Revelations was a dumpster fire but back in February they announced a new SH movie is in the works. How does everyone else feel about the first movie?

What is your favorite track in the Silent Hill franchise and why?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 10:21 AM PDT

Hello, everyone. It's my first post here but I come to you with a question. Like the title states: What is your favorite Silent Hill track and why? This can be from any game by the way, I'll start first.

Mine is Laura Plays The Piano.

There's just something so calm about it, I know there are others that sound like it but for me this is the most beautiful piece to me. What about you? I'd love to know.

P.T. Silent Hills Symbolism Breakdown Video?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:25 AM PDT

I want to ask you all if you'd be interested in watching a video I want to make about figuring out the symbolism in P.T./ its concept trailer. I've been thinking a lot about making a video about it and possibly figuring out the Protagonist's purpose of being in Silent Hill. I've already done the research and scripting for it.

Dug out old video game magazines, so scanned all Silent Hill related articles (previews, reviews, interviews) I found. I'm sure these are all already online anyway, but it killed a boring night. More in comments.

Silent Hill 4 deserves a remake more than Silent Hill 1

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 12:48 AM PDT

This may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but seeing Silent Hill 4 again makes me realize it deserves a remake more than SH1 or SH2. SH1 is at its core, even still today, a great game. It's just a very DATED game. I know if a remake ever were to happen it would be SH1 rather than SH4 because it'd sell far more, but purely on what game deserves it more it's easily SH4 for me.

SH1 is fundamentally a great game, a remake of this game would just be modernizing the graphics, gameplay, and tank controls. I don't think much should, or would be changed about it. It still a good game, just very old with PS1 era graphics and gameplay. Modernizing this would be no easy feat as Game Development is hard, but we can all imagine a modernized Silent Hill 1.

Silent Hill 4 on the other hand, the framework isn't nearly as good. There's constant loading screens, the level design is a mess, particularly in the "building level". It would be a complete remake from the ground up. So much about this game needs changing. Even the sound design, the burping nurses to the constant repeating noises. Remaking Silent Hill 4, would truly be a remake. Because there's so much they could do to improve it. From fixing the second half tediousness of repeating levels and hopefully adding more levels to replace the "2nd time" (while also changing the story to fit this). The game is just a slog to get through due to things about the game at its core, that can be fixed.

I adore Silent Hill 4, it gets far much more hate than it deserves. But that doesn't change the fact that it can be so much better. Silent Hill 1 Remake would just be a more modernized Silent Hill 1. Silent Hill 4 would be an entirely different and more fleshed out game.

Hot Take: Silent Hill 2 doesn't need a remake at all. It still holds up extremely well. Of course I will buy it if it ever does come out in 10 years as it'd come out before Silent Hill 4 Remake

I also have a sad feeling, that because SH4 Remake would be such an undertaking and because it needs it more than any other, that Konami would only remake 1-3 then move on because SH4 probably isn't worth it and it's easier and more profitable to make a new Silent Hill altogether.

Sadly none of this will ever happen but that's my Ted Talk

I think James is evil in the "Maria" ending

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 04:50 PM PDT

I honestly believe that the dark side of James completely takes over in the scenario of the "Maria" ending. My main reasoning for this is after Mary is done reading the full letter, we see James and Maria going to his car on the observation deck. Maria coughs, and James responds with "you'd better get rid of that cough". James killed Mary when she got sick, so this line could easily be him hearing Maria cough, having thoughts that she might be sick like Mary was, and therefore threatened her into getting rid of the cough, otherwise she might be next. Could just be speculation on my part, but I do like theorizing about video games here and there

Has anyone watched "Sam was here"?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2020 08:01 AM PDT

It's a 2016 movie, that I watched on Netflix without knowing nothing at all...

Well it has to be influenced by Silent Hill. If you haven't please do, it's not a great film but its quite good and you won't be bother.

I wont spoil, but if somebody told me the film was a Silent Hill adaptation I would have bought it. The references are not subtle at all but I can't find too much info on the web to see if the director have talk about this.
